BALTIMORE, Md. – Senteria Renwicks (Baltimore, Md./Landsdowne HS) scored a game-high 16 points and teammate Shamera O'Neal (Baltimore, Md./Southwestern HS) added 14 points to lead the Baltimore City Community College women's basketball team to a 59-46 Maryland JUCO win over Howard Community College on Saturday night at the BCCC P.E. Center. Both Renwicks and O'Neal tallied nine rebounds.
Howard (1-15, 0-7 MD JUCO) jumped out to a 10-5 lead, their largest lead of the game, after a jumper by Lakeisha Taylor with 13 minutes left in the first half. But BCCC (6-12, 3-3 MD JUCO) rallied to take a 22-20 lead into halftime.
The Lady Panthers dominated in the second half, leading by as many as 18, 49-33, after a bucket by TaShay Smith (Baltimore, Md./Overlea HS) with 6:22 left in the game. Howard outscored BCCC 13-10 for the rest of the game, but the Lady Dragons could not overcome their large deficit.
Parris Pretson had a team-high 14 points for Howard. Amiee Hart added 13 points, five assists and five rebounds, and Taylor had 12 boards, six points and three assists.
For BCCC, Smith had a team-best 10 rebounds and added eight points.
The Lady Panthers travel to Rockville, Md. to take on Montgomery College-Rockville on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.
