ROCKVILLE, Md. – Alexandra Silva a double-double of 32 points and 10 rebounds, both game-highs, to lead the Montgomery College-Rockville Lady Knights to an 86-66 conference win over Baltimore City Community College on Wednesday night. With the win, Rockville (16-3) remains undefeated in MD JUCO play with a 7-0 record.
Rockville started the game on a 6-0 run, but BCCC (6-13, 3-4 MD JUCO) went on 11-5 run, capped by a layup by Chanel Paye (Baltimore, Md./Hammond HS) with 12:44 left in the first half, to tie the game at 11-all.
The teams were tied again at 20-all, but the Lady Knights turned things up and went on a 24-5 run over the last 8:32 of the first half. They went into halftime with a 44-25 lead.
The Lady Panthers could get no closer than 18 points the rest of the way.
Porcha Davis also scored in double figures for Rockville with 23 points and she added eight rebounds.
TaShay Smith (Baltimore, Md./Overlea HS) led BCCC with 14 points off the bench. Paye had 13 points and three assists, while Senteria Renwicks (Baltimore, Md./Landsdowne HS) and Shamera O'Neal (Baltimore, Md./Southwestern HS) had 12 and 10 points, respectively. Renwicks added seven assists and O'Neal grabbed seven boards.
BCCC travels to Wye Mills, Md. on Friday to take on Chesapeake College. Tip-off is set for 5 p.m.
