ARLINGTON, Va. – The Northern Virginia Community College women's volleyball team defeated Baltimore City Community College 3-0 (25-9, 25-21, 25-15) on Saturday morning.
The Lady Panthers end the regular season with a 5-19 overall record and will take part in Friday's Region XX Tournament. BCCC will take on Harford Community College (16-7) at 6 p.m. at the BCCC P.E. Center. This is the first time in head coach
Amy Manougian's three-year tenure that the Lady Panthers qualified for the regional tournament.
BCCC is 0-2 against Harford this season. The Fighting Owls downed the Lady Panthers 3-0 (25-13, 25-9, 25-20) at Harford on Sept. 19 and then beat BCCC 3-1 (25-17, 26-28, 25-17, 25-22) in the Hagerstown Community College Tournament on Oct. 7.
Against NOVA,
Kourtney Anderson (Baltimore, Md./City College) posted a team-high eight kills and added eight digs.
Rodchell Thompson (Baltimore, Md./Woodlawn HS) led the defense with nine digs and
Rachel Griffith (Baltimore, Md./Western HS) had a team-best 13 assists.
Jamira Wilson (Baltimore, Md./Southside Academy) had six kills, three digs, one ace and one assist.
