ATLANTA, Ga. – Tied at 73-all at the end of regulation, Atlanta Metro College went on to outscore Baltimore City Community College 20-15 in overtime to post a 95-90 win on the final day of the 2012 AMC Classic.
BCCC (0-5) held a 39-33 lead at halftime, but AMC won the second-half battle 42-36, forcing the extra period. The Panthers hung around in overtime, but could not get past AMC in the last few minutes.
Lawna Kennedy led AMC with game-highs of 37 points and 18 rebounds. She was 16-of-25 from the field and 5-of-10 from the free-throw line for the game. Carniece Pugh finished with 19 points and five assists, while Vanessa Calhoun had 14 points and 16 boards.
Tiara France (Petersburg, Va./Petersburg HS) led the Lady Panthers with 25 points off the bench.
Tashay Smith (Baltimore, Md./Overlea HS) had 23 points and 11 rebounds and
Iman Scott (Hagerstown, Md./North Hagerstown HS) had 18 points and 14 rebounds.
BCCC travels to Cumberland, Md. to take on Allegany College of Maryland on Tuesday at 4:45 p.m.
