DUNDALK, Md. – TroiQuay Malloy and teammate Lindsay Bradford scored 21 and 20 points, respectively, as the CCBC-Dundalk women's basketball team defeated Baltimore City Community College 63-48 on Friday night. Bradford also finished with 12 rebounds and a game-high five blocks.
BCCC (1-7, 1-3 MD JUCO) scored the first four points of the game, but quickly fell behind after Dundalk (8-, 4-1) scored seven answered points. The Lady Panthers would not rest, though, and took a 20-9 lead after a layup by
Iman Scott (Hagerstown, Md./North Hagerstown HS) with 6:46 left in the first half.
The Lady Lions outscored BCCC 14-6 for the remainder of the half, but the Lady Panthers had a 26-23 advantage at the break.
A jumper by Carissa Williams with 17:22 left in the game tied things at 30-all. Bradford hit a layup 35 seconds later to break the tie and give the Lady Lions a lead they would hold on to for the rest of the game. The closest BCCC got down the stretch was 38-37 after another bucket by Scott at the 14:31 mark.
Williams was the only other Lady Lion to score in double figures. She finished with 15 points and nine rebounds.
Scott led BCCC with 13 points and had 13 rebounds and three steals.
Tiara France (Petersburg, Va./Petersburg HS) had 11 points, four boards and three assists, while
Tashay Smith (Baltimore, Md./Overlea HS) had a game-high 14 rebounds to go with her nine points.
BCCC returns to the P.E. Center for a 5 p.m. matchup against Cecil College on Wednesday.
