BALTIMORE, Md. – Tiara France (Petersburg, Va./Petersburg HS) scored a team-high 23 points, while Iman Scott (Hagerstown, Md./North Hagerstown HS) scored 20 points and grabbed a game- and career-high 30 rebounds to lead the BCCC women's basketball team to an 83-69 win over the College of Southern Maryland on Wednesday night at the BCCC P.E. Center.
 
France was 7-of-12 from the field including 3-of-4 from the 3-point line and 6-of-7 from the free-throw line. She added six rebounds, six steals and five assists. Scott grabbed 19 defensive rebounds and 11 on the offensive end.
 
BCCC (3-10, 2-4 MD JUCO) started the game on a 23-6 run that was capped by a pair of free throws by France with 13:35 left in the first half. The Lady Panthers held a 19-point lead, 32-13, after a layup by France at the 9:36 mark.
 
CSM (4-6, 3-3) got within 10, 43-33, after a 3-pointer by Taylor White with 2:59 left before halftime, but BCCC took a 50-38 lead into the break.
 
BCCC maintained the lead for the first part of the second half, but CSM rallied and tied the game at 61-all after a layup by Cymphany Brown with 9:03 left in the game. But the Lady Panthers held on and outscored the Lady Hawks 22-8 over the final 8:29 of the game.
 
Brown had a double-double of 25 points and 19 boards for CSM. Alex Manning also put up double digits in points and rebounds with 13 and 11, respectively. White finished with 10 points and seven boards.
 
Tashay Smith (Baltimore, Md./Overlea HS) also scored in double figures for BCCC with 17 points and had seven rebounds. Sheborah Miller (Baltimore, Md./Coppin Academy) finished with 11 points and six boards.
 
BCCC hits the road on Saturday to take on the Community College of Philadelphia in a 2 p.m. matchup.
