BALTIMORE, Md. – The Baltimore City Community College women's basketball team posted a 65-54 win over Montgomery College on Saturday afternoon at the BCCC P.E. Center. Tashay Smith (Baltimore, Md./Overlea HS) led the Lady Panther effort with a double-double of 16 points and 15 rebounds and added five assists.
 
BCCC (9-14, 5-6 MD JUCO) dominated the game from the first half. A layup by Jamira Wilson (Baltimore, Md./Southside Academy) with 4:26 left in the opening period put the Lady Panthers up 20-8. They went into halftime with a 27-15 lead.
 
The game was out of reach for most of the second half, but Montgomery College (17-5, 7-3 MD JUCO) went on a 20-5 run over the last 6:59 of the game to try for the win.
 
Jameelah Thalley led Montgomery College with 22 points and added 10 rebounds. Meaghan Tilghman had 13 points and nine boards, while Kapria Redparth and Angelica Ceccone each had 11 rebounds.
 
Iman Scott (Hagerstown, Md./North Hagerstown HS) finished with 15 points and 10 rebounds and Tiara France (Petersburg, Va./Petersburg HS) had 12 points, seven assists and five steals.
 
The Lady Panthers host the Community College of Philadelphia at 7 p.m. on Friday.
