Lady Panthers Finish 0-2 in Baltimore City Legends Classic

BALTIMORE, Md. – The Baltimore City Community College women's basketball team finished 0-2 (1-2) in the Baltimore City Legends Classic over the weekend at the P.E. Center.
 
The Lady Panthers lost by a combined four points in the two games, losing to ASA College (1-0) 59-57 on Saturday and to Monroe Community College (5-0) 54-52.
 
After Sunday's game, coach Tara A. Owens had this to say, "It was a great experience playing these two top notch and very respected programs. The ladies played hard and we have gotten better from this experience".
 
Against ASA, Jamia Lawson (Baltimore, Md./Coppin Academy) along with She'cquan Bailey (Snow Hill, Md./Snow Hill High School) scored in double figures with 11 and 10 points respectively. Lawson also had six rebounds and three steals while Bailey gathered five boards, three steals and three assists.
Iman Scott (Hagerstown, Md./North Hagerstown) had a team-high nine rebounds and Aneja Kemp (Norfolk, Va./Maury HS) led the team in assists with five.
On Sunday against Monroe, Scott and Lawson had double-doubles with 14 points and 13 rebounds and 10 points and 11 rebounds respectively.
Kemp came off the bench with a game-high seven assists.
 
The Lady Panthers will be on the road as they travel to Atlanta, Ga., where they will participate in the Atlanta Metro Classic. The games will be on Friday and Saturday at 5:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. respectively.
