Lady Panthers Go 1-1 in the Atlanta Metro Classic

ATLANTA, Ga. – The Baltimore City Community College women's basketball team finished 1-1 (2-3) in the Atlanta Metro Classic on Friday and Saturday.
 
On Friday, Denmark Technical College (3-0) defeated the Lady Panthers by four, 86-82. The Lady Panthers tied the game at 80 with :46 in the game on a lay-up by Aneja Kemp (Norfolk, Va./Maury HS). Denmark Tech went 4-of-4 from the line to clinch the victory.
 
In the game, Crystal Owens led all players with 25 points for Denmark Tech. Cierra Kendrick and Christhea Mitchell also scored in double figures with 19 and 16 respectively.
 
For the Lady Panthers, Nikita Brady (Baltimore, Md./Southwestern HS) had a double-double with 19 points and 15 rebounds alongside five assists and five steals. Shamera O'Neal (Baltimore, Md./Southwestern HS) finished with 12 points and five boards.
 
Kemp ended with 15 points, six rebounds and game-highs in assists and steals with eight and seven.
 
Saturday, the Lady Panthers bounced back and played an even tougher 40 minutes of basketball to beat the host team Atlanta Metropolitan State College (0-3), 69-66.
 
For the Lady Trailblazers, Lawna Kennedy had a double-double with a game-high 23 points and 11 rebounds. Davone Anduze finished with 18 points and six rebounds.
 
The Lady Panthers had three players to score in double figures, Asia Brittingham (Baltimore, Md./Friendship Academy) had a team-high 16 points, She'cquan Bailey (Snow Hill, Md./Snow Hill HS) finished with 11 points and five steals and Cierra Tourville (Manhattan, N.Y./Joppatowne HS) ended with 10 points and five rebounds.
 
Jamia Lawson (Baltimore, Md./Coppin Academy) and Brady led the team in rebounds with eight apiece. Iman Scott (Hagerstown, Md./North Hagerstown) and O'Neal had seven and six rebounds respectively.
 
The Lady Panthers will be in action on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. against CCBC-Dundalk at the P.E. Center for the first conference game of the season.  

General admissions will be $5, for BCPS $2 and free for all faculty and students with a valid school I.D.
