Lady Panthers Bounce Back in Rout over Cecil 99-58

BALTIMORE, Md. – The Baltimore City Community College women's basketball team defeated Cecil College 99-58, on Tuesday night in the P.E. Center. It was the most points the Lady Panthers (4-4, 2-1 MDJUCO), have scored in the last three years.  
 
The Lady Panthers scored the first seven points of the game before the Lady Seahawks (2-7, 0-1 MDJUCO), rallied to cut the lead to three (13-10) with 13:17 in the opening half.
 
BCCC went on a 43-12 heading into the break with a commanding 56-22 lead.
 
In the second half, the BCCC kept the pressure on the Cecil forcing them into 42 turnovers on the night and forcing them to go one and done on the offensive end outrebounding them 52-26. BCCC also held the edge in second chance points, collecting 28 offensive rebounds.
 
The Lady Panthers led by as many as 44 points (97-53) late in the second half.  
 
Cecil's leading scorer was Desiree Foye with 19 points. Alexandra Stevens pitched in with 14 points and Mikalia Frazier had 13 points and seven assists. 
 
Iman Scott (Hagerstown, Md./North Hagerstown) had a game-high 20 points to go with seven rebounds.
 
Shamera O'Neal (Baltimore, Md./Southwestern HS) had a season-high 14 points and eight boards and Tache Smothers (Greencastle, Pa./Greencastle-Antrim HS) tallied 14 points, eight assists, five rebounds and five steals.
 
She'cquan Bailey (Snow Hill, Md./Snow Hill HS) recorded 13 points, nine boards, five assists and four steals.
 
The bench play for the Lady Panthers was outstanding, as they scored 38 of the 99 points.
 
Breiona Garrison (Baltimore, Md./Carver Vo-Tech) contributed 10 points, four rebounds and four steals off the bench.
 
Asia Brittingham (Baltimore, Md./Friendship Academy) and Aneja Kemp (Norfolk, Va./Maury HS) both scored eight points apiece while adding seven rebounds and nine assists and six steals respectively.
 
Aquira Nixon (Baltimore, Md./Southwestern HS) and Cierra Tourville (Manhattan, N.Y./Joppatowne HS) combined for 12 points and six rebounds.
 
The Lady Panthers will host Anne Arundel CC on December 4, at 5:30 p.m. at the P.E. Center.
 
General admission is $5, $2 for BCPS, and free admissions for faculty and students with a valid I.D.
