BCCC Women Fall 65-52 at Hagerstown CC

HAGERSTOWN, Md. – Katie Sprecher recorded a double-double of 16 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Hagerstown Community College women's basketball team to a 65-52 win over Baltimore City Community College on Wednesday evening.
 
BCCC ends the regular season with a 10-15 overall record and a 5-6 MD JUCO record. Hagerstown improved to 10-12, 5-5. The Lady Panthers will take part in the first round of the MD JUCO Tournament on Tuesday. Seedings and first-round game sites will be announced by the conference office this weekend.
 
Things were close to start the first half and the Lady Panthers took a momentary lead (14-13) after a jumper by Tashay Smith (Baltimore, Md./Overlea HS) with 11:46 left in the first half. The Lady Hawks regained the lead on a bucket by Tiffany Wallace at the 11:01 mark. Hagerstown then went on a 14-5 run to take a 32-19 lead into halftime.
 
The Lady Hawks kept their distance in the second half and led by as many as 20 points on two occasions. The Lady Panthers could get no closer than 13 points the final two minutes.
 
Kristine Mstowski had 13 points for Hagerstown and Wallace added 13 points and three rebounds. Miesha Adams grabbed a game-high 14 boards.
 
Tiara France (Petersburg, Va./Petersburg HS) scored a game-high 21 points and had four rebounds and four assists. Aquira Nixon (Baltimore, Md./Northwestern HS) had 11 rebounds and Iman Scott (Hagerstown, Md./North Hagerstown HS) just missed a double-double with eight points and nine rebounds.
