BALTIMORE, Md. – The Baltimore City Community College women's basketball team had three different players who had individual highs in the 90-44 win, against Salem Community College on Wednesday night at the P.E. Center.
Tache Smothers (Greencastle, Pa./Greencastle-Antrim HS) was one of them who had a triple-double with 14 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists.
BCCC extended its winning streak to seven games, improving their record to 10-4 on the season.
The Lady Panthers never trailed in the game scoring the first four points and taking an early 11-4 lead in the first 4:00. The Lady Panthers took their largest lead of the first half at 49-22 going into the break.
The second half was pretty much the same as the Lady Panthers outscored the Lady Oaks (4-3), 41-22.
In the game, BCCC had their fewest turnovers (21) and the most blocks (10).
The Lady Oaks were led in scoring by Shaqui Coppage who had a double-double with 18 points and 12 rebounds and Marissa Marchegiano had 14 points.
For the Lady Panthers,
Iman Scott (Hagerstown, Md./N. Hagerstown HS) had her fifth double-double with a game-high 23 points and a season-high 15 rebounds and six steals to go with three blocks.
Jamia Lawson (Baltimore, Md./Coppin Academy) had a double-double with 21 points and 10 rebounds alongside two blocks and two steals.
Aneja Kemp (Norfolk, Va./Maury HS) had 14 points and season-high nine steals while adding 8 assists and five boards.
Asia Brittingham (Baltimore, Md./Friendship Academy),
Nikita Brady (Baltimore, Md./Southwestern HS) and
Mavis Domingo-Francois (Silver Springs, Md./James Hubert Blake HS) came off the bench and contributed as well.
Brittingham had 10 points and five rebounds, Brady ended the game with six points, six assists, five boards and five steals and Domingo-Francois chipped in with two points.
The Lady Panthers will be on the road in Columbia, Md. on Saturday, January 11
th, as they face Howard Community College at 1 p.m.
