Lady Panthers Rally from a 10-point Deficit in Win over Lady Hawks

BALTIMORE, MD. – The Baltimore City Community College women's basketball team once again was put to the test in a win versus College of Southern Maryland 70-54, on Wednesday night at the P.E. Center. BCCC are 12-4, 6-1 MD JUCO, and are on a nine-game winning streak.

BCCC scored the first two points in the game before College of Southern Maryland (5-8), went on a 13-2 run. BCCC trailed by as many as 10 points in the first half on two separate occasions, the last being at 28-18 at the 2:28 mark.

The Lady Panthers cut the deficit down to four by halftime, as Nikita Brady (Baltimore, Md./Southwestern HS) scored six of the 10 points in the last 2:30 of the half.

BCCC went into the break behind for only the third time this season as CSM held a 32-28 lead.
In the second half, the Lady Panthers started to assert themselves on the defensive end and execute on the offensive side outscoring the Lady Hawks 42-22 in the process.

For CSM, Taylor White posted a double-double with 15 points and 14 rebounds while Siara Jackson had 13 points and seven rebounds.

For BCCC, Cierra Tourville (Manhattan, N.Y./Joppatowne HS) led all scorers with a season-high 20 points to go with six rebounds.

Tache Smothers (Greencastle, Pa./Greencastle-Antrim HS) had 14 points and eight boards and Iman Scott (Hagerstown, Md./N. Hagerstown HS) collected 12 rebounds in the game.

Brady finished the game with 18 points, eight rebounds, five steals and four assists.
