Largo, MD. – The Baltimore City Community College women's basketball team loss to Prince George's Community College 48-66 on Friday night. BCCC dropped their second game in a row for only the second time of the season.
The Lady Panthers record now stands at 14-7, 8-4 MD JUCO.
BCCC were plagued by foul trouble, missed layups, missed free-throws and turnovers in the game. BCC was outrebounded (54-33) and went 9-of-23 (39%) from the free-throw line.
The Lady Panthers trailed by 20 (21-1) with 8:44 in the first half. The Lady Owls (10-13), held the Lady Panthers to 6-of-27 (22%) shooting from the floor.
The Lady Panthers managed to cut the lead to 12 (28-16) going into the half.
In the second half Prince George's CC led by nearly 20 points on their way to the victory. Prince George's went to the charity stripe 18 times and got 12 points, going 10-of-13 in the last 8:45 of the game.
The Lady Owls had four players in double figures, Sabriena Shubert had 20 points and eight rebounds.
Porchia Smith and Jaida Jenkins both had double-doubles with 17 points and 13 rebounds and 17 rebounds and 13 points respectively.
Shanice Warren had 14 points, seven assists and six rebounds.
For the Lady Panthers,
Shamera O'Neal (Baltimore, Md./Southwestern HS) had a career-high 23 points to go with six rebounds, and five steals.
Nikita Brady (Baltimore, Md./Southwestern HS) posted her second double-double of the season with 14 points and 10 rebounds while adding five assists.
The Lady Panthers will host their final regular-season home game on Tuesday, February 4
th at 5:30 against Garrett College.
