PHILADELPHIA, PA. – The Baltimore City Community College women's basketball team cruised past Community College of Philadelphia 73-34 on Saturday evening.
The Lady Panthers ended the season 17-7 and 9-4 in the conference, which marked the most overall wins and conference wins in the past three seasons. The Lady Panthers will be the 5
th seed going into this year's MD JUCO tournament.
The Lady Panthers led from start to finish in the runaway victory. The Lady Panthers had all their players return from nagging injuries to contribute in the win.
For CCOP, Amber Thorpe had 16 rebounds, 15 points, four steals and two blocks.
For BCCC,
Jamia Lawson (Baltimore, Md./Coppin Academy) had a career-high 24 points to go along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Nikita Brady (Baltimore, Md./Southwestern HS) finished the game with 13 points and six boards, six steals and four assists.
The Lady Panthers will host the first round game of the MD JUCO tournament on Tuesday, February 11
th against Allegany College of Maryland at 5:30 p.m.
