Nikita Brady Leads Lady Panthers to victory on Sophomore Night

BALTIMORE, MD. – The Baltimore City Community College women's basketball team defeated Garrett College 76-65 on Tuesday night in the P.E. Center. Nikita Brady (Baltimore, Md./Southwestern HS) lead the team with 21 points.
 
BCCC ended a two-game losing streak with the win and are now 15-7.
 
The Lady Panthers started the game on a 9-0 run and led 11-2 with 14:58 in the opening half. The Lady Panthers never trailed in the game.
 
Garrett (14-7) cut the lead to two (33-31) at the break.
 
The Lady Panthers expanded the lead by as many as 14 in the second half to take control of the game.
 
The Lady Lakers were lead in scoring by Ayana Vaughn with a game-high 26 points while adding seven rebounds and six assists. Kristyn Wilson and Amber Smith both had double-doubles with 13 points and 13 rebounds and 12 points and 13 rebounds respectively.
 
For the Lady Panthers, Jamia Lawson (Baltimore, Md./Coppin Academy) posted her third double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Shamera O'Neal (Baltimore, Md./Southwestern HS) finished with nine rebounds and seven points.
 
Brady also had seven rebounds, six assists, six steals in the game.  
 
The Lady Panthers travel to Annandale, Va. on Thursday, February 6th to play Northern Virginia Community College. The game will start at 5:30 p.m.
