Box Score BALTIMORE, MD. – The Baltimore City Community College women's basketball team bounced back with a big conference victory against Frederick Community College on Wednesday night in the P.E. Center 79-48.
The Lady Panthers defense picked up in the game holding the Lady Cougars to 21 percent shooting (15-of-71) and outrebounded them 73-49.
BCCC came out in the first half a little lethargic and it showed as they led by five after the first quarter and went into the half with a 32-26 lead.
The Lady Panthers used a 30 point third quarter to break the game open and to cruise to their first conference win of the season.
The Lady Cougars were led by Tajaia Tillman with team-high 17 points with nine rebounds. Tia Byrd had 11 points and Shalyn Washington had a team-high 11 rebounds to go with nine points.
Troniqua Black (Frederick, Md./Governor Thomas Johnson HS) posted a double-double with 20 points and 15 rebounds along with three blocks.
LaShay Stackhouse (Baltimore, Md./Dunbar HS) came off the bench with 18 points, nine rebounds and three blocks while
She'cquan Bailey (Snow Hill, Md./Snow Hill HS) ended the game with 15 points, 10 rebounds, and eight assists.
Alyn Sankar (Baltimore, Md./Kenwood HS) had 10 rebounds and five points and
Alexis Wade (Raleigh, N.C./Southeast Raleigh HS) finished with eight points and eight rebounds.
On Saturday November, 21
st the Lady Panthers will face Anne Arundel Community College in Severn, Md. at 1 p.m.
