Box Score SEVERN, MD. – The Baltimore City Community College women's basketball team defeated Anne Arundel Community College on Saturday afternoon 90-46. BCCC moves to 2-0 in the conference and 3-3 overall.
The Lady Panthers struggled to find their way in the first quarter shooting 25 percent and were outrebounded 12-8 by the Lady Riverhawks. However, the Lady Panthers had five blocks and forced 10 turnovers and held a 14-13 lead after the first 10 minutes of play.
In the second quarter the Lady Panthers looked like a totally different team as they outscored the Lady River Hawks 27-6.
She'cquan Bailey (Snow Hill, Md./Snow Hill HS) and
Alexis Wade (Raleigh, N.C./Southeast Raleigh HS) spearheaded the team scoring 16 of the 27 points and shooting a combined 7-of-8 from the field.
The Lady Panthers shot a blistering 61 percent from the field in the quarter and led at the half 41-19.
The Lady Panthers never looked back and finished the game off with a 49-27 second half.
The Lady Riverhawks were led by Bri'ana Oliver with 12 points and four steals.
Troniqua Black (Frederick, Md./Governor Thomas Johnson HS) finished with 12 points, 12 rebounds, three assists, three steals and three blocks.
LaShay Stackhouse (Baltimore, Md./Dunbar HS) in her second consecutive start had 12 points, nine rebounds, six steals and two blocks.
Bailey, who is ranked second in scoring in the MD JUCO and 17
th in the nation, scored a game-high 29 points and had a game-high of eight assists along with four rebounds and four steals. Wade matched her career-high with 18 points in the game to go with nine rebounds.
The Lady Panthers will return to action after the Thanksgiving break on Monday, November 30
th in La Plata Md. where they will take on College of Southern Maryland at 5 p.m.
