LA PLATA, MD. – The Baltimore City Community College women's basketball team defeated College of Southern Maryland on Monday night 76-43. BCCC moves to 3-0 in the conference and 4-3 overall.  

The Lady Hawks scored the first two points of the night on an Ashley Pittman layup and took a 3-2 lead after Akilah Stroman split a pair of free-throws. The Lady Panthers would not trail for the rest of the game as they ended the first quarter of play on a 17-7 scoring run.

In the second quarter the Lady Panthers had a similar quarter as freshman reserve Brittany Hinton (Philadelphia, Pa./Imhotep HS) scored eight of her 10 first half points in the quarter.
 
The Lady Panthers defense held the Lady Hawks to another 10 point quarter and 25 percent from the field (8-of-32) in the first half. The Lady Panthers also forced 14 turnovers.
 
At intermission BCCC held a firm lead at 39-20.
 
In the second half the Lady Panthers outscored the Lady Hawks 37-23.
 
The Lady Hawks were led by Pittman with 11 points and Stroman with 10 rebounds and nine points.

Courtney Crawford (Lanham, Md./Archbishop Carroll HS) recorded her first double-double of the year with 19 rebounds and 17 points.
 
She'cquan Bailey (Snow Hill, Md./Snow Hill HS) finished the game with 17 points,  nine assists, seven rebounds and five steals.

LaShay Stackhouse (Baltimore, Md./Dunbar HS) posted a double-double 13 points and 10 rebounds to go with five assists, five steals and three blocks and Hinton finished the game with 14 points off the bench.

The Lady Panthers will return to action over the weekend as they will host the Charm City Classic in the P.E. Center. The classic will be from Friday, December 4^th-Sunday, December 6^th.

General admission will be $8, $2 for BCPS and free admission for BCCC faculty, staff and students with valid I.D.
