Box Score 3 BALTIMORE, MD. – The Baltimore City Community College women's basketball team hosted the annual Charm City Classic from Friday, December 4
th-Sunday, December 6
th in the P.E. Center. BCCC finished the tournament with a 2-1 record to bring their overall record to 6-4.
On Friday, BCCC beat Northern Virginia Community College (5-5) 69-43. BCCC led 8-5 with 6:02 in the first quarter before they ended the quarter on a 13-4 run.
In the second quarter the Lady Panthers defense held NOVA to 15.8 percent (3-of-19) from the field. The Lady Panthers went into the break with a comfortable 22 point lead at 38-16.
In the second half BCCC held on to win convincingly to give them the victory.
NOVA was led by Christian Robertson with 17 points, 10 rebounds, five steals and four assists.
Freshman guard
Natasha Roy (Gambrills, Md./Arundel HS) led the team with 16 points, grabbed 8 boards and dished out seven assists in her first collegiate game.
She'cquan Bailey (Snow Hill, Md./Snow Hill HS) finished the game with 12 points, seven assists and six rebounds.
Alyn Sankar (Baltimore, Md./Kenwood HS) chipped in with 10 points and eight rebounds.
On Saturday the Lady Panthers fell 80-63 to the #2 ranked Monroe Community College (11-0) in the NJCAA Division II.
After leading 20-12 at the end of the opening 10:00, the Lady Panthers were outscored in the second stanza 25-17 and went into the second half tied at 37 apiece.
In the second half the undefeated Lady Tribunes outscored the Lady Panthers 43-26.
The Lady Tribunes had five players in double figures led by Shanice Johnson came off the bench with 20 points, 12 rebounds, six steals, four assists and three blocks. Adre'onia Coleman finished with 18 points, 13 rebounds and four assists and Kiki Bynes had 16 points, five assists and four steals. Reserves Chelsea Steinruck and Naje Gibson both had 10 points apiece.
Bailey and Roy were the only players to score in double figures finishing with 25 and 12 points respectively.
Sunday, the last day of the three-day classic, the Lady Panthers were able to outlast the Lady Bears of Harcum College (7-6) with a 75-67 win.
The Lady Panthers never trailed in the game and led by as many as 15, (48-33) midway through the third quarter.
For the Lady Bears, Tiffany Anstead had 18 points and 10 rebounds. Karoline Teigland finished with 15 points, seven rebounds and four steals, Maya Mosley ended with 11 points, six assists, five boards and four steals and Taylour Jones had 10 points for the game.
Bailey had game-highs of 24 points and 13 rebounds to go along with six assists.
LaShay Stackhouse (Baltimore, Md./Dunbar HS) scored 14 points and pulled down six boards.
Roy scored 13 points and added five rebounds, five assists, and four steals. Sankar scored eight points, had eight blocks and hauled in five rebounds.
The Lady Panthers will be traveling to Florida next week for three games in the Sunshine State.
