Box Score 2 BALTIMORE, MD. – The Baltimore City Community College women's and men's basketball teams exited the MD JUCO Tournament in the semi-finals.
In Rockville, Md., the Lady Panthers loss to Hagerstown Community College on Saturday afternoon, February 14
th 78-66. A 21-4 run by the Lady Hawks sealed the fate for the
Lady Panthers in the second half.
Michelle Wright (Baltimore, Md./Dunbar HS) scored 18 points in the game and
Asia Brittingham (Baltimore, Md./Friendship Academy) had 10 points.
On Monday afternoon in Catonsville, Md., the men's team fell to Frederick Community College 91-78. The Panthers fought valiantly in the game before just coming up short in the final minutes of the game.
Tre' Thomas (Bowie, Md./Riverdale Baptist HS) ended the game with 14 points and
Chas Brown (Baltimore, Md./Baltimore Polytechnic HS) finished with 13 points and seven rebounds.
Both teams still have games to be played in their respective seasons. On Friday, February 20
th the women's and men's team will have Sophomore Night. The women will play CCBC-Dundalk at 5 p.m. and the men will face St. Mary's JV at 7 p.m. in the P.E. Center.
The men's team will also have a game on Tuesday evening, February 24
th against Northern Virginia Community College at 7 p.m.
The Lady Panthers will then travel to Bel Air, Md. to take on Harford Community College in the Region XX Finals at 7 p.m. on Thursday, February 26
th. The winner will advance and be the host team in the District C Finals.
The men's team will play in the Region XX Tournament from February 28
th – March 1
st in Hagerstown, Md.
General admissions for the home games will be $5.00, $2.00 for BCPS with a valid I.D. and free for all BCCC faculty, staff and students with a valid I.D.
