BCCC Clip Cardinals with an 87-30 Win

CATONSVILLE, MD. – The Baltimore City Community College women's basketball team was victorious again against CCBC-Catonsville 87-30 on Monday night in the Jack Manley Athletic and Wellness Center.
 
BCCC are now two games over .500 with a 9-7 record to start the New Year off on a good note.
 
The Lady Panthers are currently on a three-game winning streak with the win against the Lady Cardinals.
 
The Lady Panthers defense held the Lady Cardinals to 9-of-51 shooting (17.6 percent) and caused 38 turnovers.
 
The Lady Panthers dominated the Lady Cardinals in the paint by scoring 54 points in the paint while taking advantage of the turnovers by scoring 41 points off of their opponent's miscues and scoring 22 fast break points.
 
BCCC tied their season-high for assists in the game as a team with 26 and set a season-high field goal percentage from the field and from behind the three-point line by shooting 55.2 percent and 46.7 percent respectively.
 
The Lady Cardinals were led by, Ayannah Riley who scored 10 points on the night.
 
For the Lady Panthers, She'cquan Bailey (Snow Hill, Md./Snow Hill HS) led all scorers with 17 points. Bailey also had seven steals, five assists and five rebounds.
 
Natasha Roy (Gambrills, Md./Arundel HS) record her second double-double with 15 points and 12 assists alongside four rebounds and four steals.
 
Alyn Sankar (Baltimore, Md./Kenwood HS) and Alexis Wade (Raleigh, N.C./Southeast Raleigh HS) rounded out the Lady Panthers squad who scored in double figures with 15 and 11 respectively.
 
Sankar ended with eight rebounds and four steals and Wade finished the game with eight rebounds, six steals and four assists.
 
Courtney Crawford (Lanham, Md./Archbishop Carroll HS) ended with a game-high of nine boards and three blocks to go with eight points and two steals.
 
The Lady Panthers will play their next four games at home in the P.E. Center with the first being a 5 p.m. tip-off versus the Lady Lakers of Garrett College on Friday, January 8th.
 
General admission will be $5, $2 for BCPS and free admission for BCCC faculty, staff and students with valid I.D.
