Lady Panthers sink Skipjacks 66-47; Will be #2 seed in MD Juco Tourney

Box Score WYE MILLS, MD -- The Baltimore City Community College Lady Panthers ended their regular season on a high note in a highly anticipated matchup against the Skipjacks of Chesapeake College.

The Lady Panthers went on the road to Chesapeake College and without a doubt let the rest of the MD JUCO Conference know they are ready for the conference tournament next week.

In a pivotal matchup game to end the regular season, the Lady Panthers and Chesapeake College were battling for the number 2 seed in the MD JUCO conference tournament. BCCC asserted their dominance early and often in route to their 66-47 victory.

Nia Caver led the Panthers in scoring with 17 points and added 7 rebounds, 3 steals, and 2 blocks. Sasha Francis scored 14 points, grabbed 5 rebounds, and had 2 steals. Vivian Chigbu was the last player in double figures and notched her eleventh double-double on the season with 10 points and 14 rebounds.

"This was great win for us tonight! We controlled the tempo and stuck to our game plan most of the game," said head coach Felicia Hardy. "I am pleased with our team effort tonight and look forward to taking this momentum into the [conference tournament]."

The BCCC Lady Panthers finished the regular season with a record of 16-9 (10-2 MD Juco conference).

The Lady Panthers have begun their preparation for the MD JUCO conference tournament to be played at Hagerstown Community College in Hagerstown, Maryland February 14th - 17th. The time and opponent for their first round game is TBD.
