The BCCC Panthers rolled by the Rhode Island CC Knights today 108-78 eclipsing the century mark for the third time this season. The Panthers bounced back from a tough loss last week against Montgomery CC, with a stellar wire to wire performance. The Panthers welcomed back Freshmen Guard Jo-Nathan, who missed the last game due to an injury. Kelly continued his hot scoring streak and posted 27 points to go along with 8 assist. He is the second leading scorer on the team, averaging 16 ppg.just behind Sophomore
Carson Smith's 18 ppg..
As a team, the Panthers used a stifling defense throughout the game, posting a total of 13 steals. Sophomore Point Guard
David Harris lead the effort with a season-high 5. Another Panther who had a great game was Freshmen Forward Wendell Tomlin. He had the hot hand in the first half, finishing the game with 25 points and 9 rebounds.
The Defense of the Panthers was part of the up tempo style that Rhode Island couldn't handle. The defense lead to fast breaks which contributed to the highlight of the game, when
Carson Smith drove baseline to receive a pass from Harris resulting in a thunderous throw-down that got the fans off their feet. Smith would finish the game with 15 points on 6 of 7 shooting.
The win brings the teams record back to 500 with 11 games left in the season. The Panthers next play Thursday January 19th against the Mustangs of Monroe College.
