The BCCC Panthers defeated Bull City Prep 81-70 in their second game of the CCBC Catonsville MIxer Sunday. The Panthers put on an outstanding first half all-around, holding Bull City to 26 total first half points. Albright Odobe was one of the stars of the half, as he worked to control the paint on offense and defense for the Panthers. He would finish the game, scoring 9 points, with 16 rebounds and 3 blocks. The first half, also was a return to form for Freshman Wendell Tomlin, who has been getting his feet back under him after a nagging injury last week. Tomlin would finish the game with a team high 15 points. Carson Smith and David Harris were instrumental in pacing the entire game for BCCC, as the backcourt worked together to maintain the composure for the Panthers. Harris would finish with 14 points, 9 assists, and 8 rebounds, and Smith would finish with 14 points, 7 assists, and a game high 6 steals.
The second half was a different story, as coach Thelanious Prioleau decided to open up some playing time for other roster members to get crucial experience in game time situations. Jamal Lee would chip in on both ends of the court, by working to pick up Bull City's guards from baseline to baseline. Although Bull CIty would eventually cut the load to as close as 10 points, the Panthers would hold on to preserve the victory.
The Panthers will travel to Hagerstown Community College to take on the Hawks Wednesday at 6:30 pm.
