Box Score BALTIMORE, Md. – The Baltimore City Community College women's basketball team defeated College of Southern Maryland on Saturday afternoon in Day 1 of the Baltimore City Legends Classic in the P.E. Center. BCCC's record is now 2-0.
The Lady Panthers fell behind early trailing by seven (11-4). The Lady Panthers used a 16-7 run to take the lead 20-18 approaching the 5:00 mark and did not trail for the remainder of the game.
The Lady Panthers took a 31-21 halftime lead.
In the second half it was more the same with BCCC taking firm control of the game over CSM. The lead would swell to 41 points late in the game.
The Lady Hawks were led in scoring by Alexis Fennell with nine points and she also had eight rebounds. Briana Diggs had eight points and seven rebounds and Amber Smith had nine rebounds and seven points.
Michelle Wright (Baltimore, Md./Dunbar HS) posted a double-double with 16 points and 14 rebounds to go along with a game-high four blocks and four steals.
Asia Brittingham (Baltimore, Md./Friendship Academy),
Danaira Duncan (Baltimore, Md./Coppin Academy) and
Kai Wyatt (Baltimore, Md./MATHS HS) all scored 11 points apiece. Brittingham also had five rebounds and four steals, Duncan had four assists and four rebounds and Wyatt had four steals.
Breiona Garrison (Baltimore, Md./Carver Vo-Tech) ended the game with eight points, six boards and three steals and
Tache Smothers (Greencastle, Pa./Greencastle-Antrim HS) finished with eight points, six assists and six rebounds.
