Box Score DUNDALK, MD – The Baltimore City Community College women's basketball team fell to CCBC-Dundalk 77-73 on Saturday afternoon. The loss was the first for BCCC in the MD JUCO.
The Lady Panthers (14-6, 7-1 MD JUCO) fell behind early 13-2 in front of a raucous crowd. The Lady Panthers were plagued by turnovers for the first 15:00 of the game before mounting a comeback.
The Lady Panthers cut the lead to down to two at halftime 36-34.
In the second half, the Lady Panthers continued their come back. The Lady Panthers led by 9 late in the game before there were a slew of free-throws (26) that took place over the final 6:36.
Dundalk had 20 of the 26 attempts.
The Lady Panthers were down 76-73 with 0:20 to play, but failed to get a good look at the basket in the waning seconds of the game.
The Lady Lions had three players to score in double digits, De'Asia Meyers scored a game-high 26 points alongside four assists and four steals. Koraan Sydnor finished with 21 points, eight rebounds and four steals and Mylia Clarke had 11 points, nine boards and four steals.
For the Lady Panthers,
Amia Howard (Baltimore, Md./Benjamin Franklin HS) scored 15 points and grabbed eight rebounds and
Asia Brittingham (Baltimore, Md./Friendship Academy) finished with 13 points and seven rebounds.
Michelle Wright (Baltimore, Md./Dunbar HS) ended the game with a game-high 20 rebounds and 12 points and
Danaira Duncan (Baltimore, Md./Coppin Academy) chipped in with 11 points and five assists.
The Lady Panthers will be hosting their Youth Day game on Tuesday, January 20
th at 4 p.m. in the P.E. Center against Northern Virginia Community College.
