TAKOMA PARK, MD. – The Baltimore City Community College women's basketball team defeated Montgomery College 74-53 on Wednesday night. BCCC improves to 18-6, 9-1 MD JUCO.
 
The Lady Panthers trailed 14-9 with 12:33 in the opening half. Over the next four minutes the Lady Panthers outscored the Lady Raptors 10-0 to take a 19-14 lead and never looked back.
 
BCCC finished the half on a 14-7 run to take a 33-21 lead into the break.
 
Midway through the second half the Lady Panthers defense sank their claws in defensively and found themselves up by as many as 29 points (62-33).
 
The Lady Panthers outrebounded the Lady Raptors 52-35 and outscored them in the paint 48-20. The Lady Panthers defense held their opponent to 30.6 percent shooting from the field.  

For the Lady Raptors, Jerbria Smith scored 19 points.

For the Lady Panthers, Michelle Wright (Baltimore, Md./Dunbar HS) posted her 16^th double-double  with 26 points and 10 rebounds while adding four steals and two blocks.
 
Asia Brittingham (Baltimore, Md./Friendship Academy) finished the game with 15 points and five rebounds and  Danaira Duncan (Baltimore, Md./Coppin Academy) contributed with 13 points, five boards and four assists.
 
Amia Howard (Baltimore, Md./Benjamin Franklin HS) also had a double-double with 14 boards and 10 points.
 
The Lady Panthers will take their last regular-season road game on Saturday, January 31^st against Anne Arundel Community College in Severn, Md. at 1 p.m.
