Box Score BALTIMORE, MD – The Baltimore City Community College women's basketball team stays unblemished in the conference with a commanding 82-51 victory over Frederick Community College on Saturday afternoon in the P.E. Center. BCCC is now 13-5, 6-0 MDJUCO.
The Lady Panthers started off a little slow as they struggled to get any shots to go down and fell behind quickly 12-5.
The Lady Panthers used a 14-0 run to take a seven point lead of their own. The Lady Panthers led by 17 at halftime 40-23.
In the second half, BCCC continued the onslaught on the offensive end and defensively suffocated Frederick (8-7, 1-3 MDJUCO).
BCCC outscored FCC 54-26 in points in the paint and in 2
nd chance points 25-11. BCCC forced 26 turnovers and scored 24 points off of those turnovers.
The Lady Panthers had a season-high of 80 rebounds in the game.
FCC was led by Kelli Griffith with a game-high 24 points and Tamyra Laws recorded a double-double with 19 rebounds and 14 points.
For BCCC, three players finished with double-doubles.
Michelle Wright (Baltimore, Md./Dunbar HS) had 19 points and 19 rebounds alongside six blocks and six steals.
Jasmine Townes (Newark, N.J./West Side HS) had 17 points and 17 boards and
Amia Howard (Baltimore, Md./Benjamin Franklin HS) ended the game with 13 points and 10 rebounds.
Jada Hatcher (Baltimore, Md./MATHS HS) chipped in with 12 points.
The Lady Panthers will travel to the McHenry, Md. on Wednesday, January 7
th to take on Garrett College for a 5 p.m. tip-off.
