Lewis League Girls HS Volleyball Championship at BCCC

My Fathers Plan Sponsors Lewis League at BCCC

Baltimore City Community College in partnership with My Fathers Plan is proud to host the Lewis League Girls High School Volleyball tournament. My Fathers Plan started in 2012 is a local non-profit organization dedicated to cultivating change for inner city youth through community activism, financial literacy, and community outreach. This is the first year the organization has sponsored a girl's high school competition. The founder Dawod Thomas is a graduate of BCCC and was a member of the team that won the Maryland Junior College Championship in 1995. He founded My Fathers Plan because of his father's words and deeds in the community. Mr. Thomas or Dawod as he prefers to be called, believes that "partnering on events like the volleyball tournament with BCCC can go a long way in making a difference for the youth in the city both My Fathers Plan and BCCC serves".

My Fathers Plan hopes this event will promote girls participation in sport while at the same time expose them to a college atmosphere. The inaugural event has six Baltimore City high schools (ACCE, City, BLSYW, Carver, Patterson, Western) competing in a round robin format with the top two teams competing for the championship which will take place April 18th in the Physical Education Building on the main campus of BCCC. The finals start at 5:30 pm. The link below will take you to the livestream.
