BCCC Athletics Hall of Fame Inductees
Chima Ugah was a men’s soccer standout in the early 1980’s at the Community College of Baltimore (CCB). As a freshman in 1980, he received the Athletic Achievement Award. Ugah graduated from CCB in 1983 with a degree in business administration. He then went on to complete two bachelor’s degrees and an MBA from Morgan State. Ugah also earned a master’s in management information systems from Bowie State University. He is currently a doctoral candidate in the computer information systems program at Nova Southern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Between 1987 and 1994, Ugah was an adjunct professor at several Baltimore-area Colleges and Universities and worked simultaneously in the public and private sectors as an information technology (IT) program developer, project leader, and analyst.
He began teaching at Baltimore City Community College (BCCC) full-time in 1994 and has received several awards during his 18-year tenure. Ugah was given the Distinguished Alumni Award in 2002, and in 2011, he received the Alumni Distinguished Service Award and the Faculty Excellence Award. He also served as the president of the BCCC Alumni Association from 1999-2010 and has been the BCCC Faculty president since 2010.
Ugah and his wife Ernestine have four children: Elisha, Joel, Ashley and Ijeoma.
